Well that was a bit silly, wasn’t it! But don’t worry we’ve all been there. Please click ‘lost password’ on your account login page for more help.

Can I order ‘out of stock’ items?
Why yes, you can. Any of our pieces can be pre-ordered and your card will only be charged upon dispatch.

Do you offer gift wrapping?
We don’t offer this service at the moment sadly, but we believe it’s really what’s inside the parcel that counts! When buying a handknit garment at full price you will receive a cotton amano bag that can be used for your shopping, or keeping your amano safe.

About Us

Where are your knitters based?
Our knitters live way up in the Ecuadorian mountains with our dear friend Miquel and his wife Lucia, in a region called Carchi. We work with around 300 knitters in the area and have done for over 40 years.

Are your knitters paid a fair wage?
Yes, we’ve been giving our knitters a stable and reliable income for nearly half a century. Hand-knitting is perfect for their traditional way of life, as they can fit it in around farming and harvesting their crops.

What kind of wool do you use?
We use the finest sheep and alpaca wool in our designs, both of which are sourced from Peru. We use Peruvian wool as it is extremely high quality, and we are can be sure the animals are well looked after and treated ethically.

How long can I expect my Amano to last?
Amano knitwear is made to last a lifetime and become a future heirloom. Some of our customers are still wearing the same pieces they bought in the early nineties, and you can often find vintage Amano designs on Ebay and Depop that are still in near-perfect condition. So in short, a very long time indeed.
